Evanston is home to Northwestern University, with great beaches and many interesting shops and restaurants, and it is within a few minutes of Chicago. Our teaching studio is close to public transportation, Lake Michigan, several shopping districts, and is walking distance from some of the best restaurants in the city and a Whole Foods supermarket.
Directions: from south of Chicago, take I-55 to Lake Shore Drive north, and take it north via Sheridan Road to Evanston. At South Boulevard, go straight until you cross under the CTA tracks. Custer Avenue is just on the west side of the CTA (1 block from the South Boulevard CTA Purple Line station). We are located just north of South Blvd. on Custer (537 Unit 3). From Chicago, either take Sheridan Road as above, or Western to Oakton, turn right and travel east to Custer. Left on Custer 2 blocks. From the north, take Dempster into Evanston, turn right (south) on Ridge, go 1 block past Main and turn left on Washington. Go east on Washington to Custer, turn right and go 4 blocks to 537.
Located just north of Chicago, Evanston has a stunning natural setting on Lake Michigan with unique business districts, attractive homes on tree-lined streets, and pleasant public parks.
The studio is one block from the Purple Line elevated train (South Blvd. stop) and 2.5 blocks from a Metra station (Main Street), with access to Chicago and the North Shore. We are 15-20 minutes by car from the near north side of Chicago. The studio is 10 blocks from downtown Evanston, with many fine shops, hotels and restaurants.
Please see our Places to Stay in Evanston page for help in locating accomodations while you are attending Thai yoga therapy classes. Students with a car sometimes stay in nearby Skokie, Morton Grove or Lincolnwood, where hotels are somewhat lower cost.
Our studio is airy and pleasant, on the first floor, with forced air heat and air conditioning, and an accessible restroom. We provide the Thai massage mats and pillows. There are many wonderful shops and restaurants within walking distance for lunch breaks.
We can accomodate 4 students per class for dormitory-style accomodations in the studio, which has a full kitchen and full bathroom with a shower and bathtub. Please contact us for details.
When attending Thai massage classes, you need only bring a pen and some water to drink. We provide everything needed for practice, and each course has a workbook.
